We Want to Rock! – Episode 67

In this episode, Mark finally asked Eloy about his music background – when he started learning the guitar, what was his motivation, and who were his early influences. They talk about his experiences in playing with a band, performing live, and studio recording sessions. Then they get into a discussion about their favorite songwriters – the musical poets who they feel are the best storytellers. As the discussion evolves, they ended up talking about the meanings of song lyrics from the 60s. Do later generations really understand the meaning of some of the songs of the Vietnam era? Finally, for some odd reason, the subject of hippies and the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco came up.

During the discussion, Eloy mentions a blues number he wrote, titled Black Cat Train Track Blues. Here’s a link to his recording of this original piece. Do check it out!
