Trampled Underfoot Podcast – 164 – It’s All About Style
In this episode of the Trampled Underfoot Podcast, Eloy Escagedo and Mark Lindsay open with a couple of series Eloy has been enjoying on Netflix, one of which being Cobra Kai. In this series, based on the Karate Kid movies of the 80s, the perspective is changed from that of the good guy to that of the perceived villain. In the re-imagined series, we see the villain of the movies wasn’t actually a villain at all. This brings up the topic of producers, directors, and performers taking characters we hold dear, and re-imagining them, sometimes changing genre, other times just changing the perception of those characters from a different point of view. Is this a good thing?
Mark then turns the tables on Eloy by associating the same concept with music. Is it the same thing? Is taking a rock standard and putting a different spin on it blasphemy, or is it all a part of the creativity of the artist? There are some very definite opinions on this topic, and some that may surprise you.
Also; it’s no secret that Eloy and Mark love their tech. But have any of us stopped to reflect on just how much money we’re paying for our tech?
All of this and more in this episode as the hosts continue their overall discussion of life, the universe, and everything in this episode of The Trampled Underfoot Podcast! Enjoy!
